2017 Gunflint Lodge BBQ

Register to join us for the 2017 Gunflint Lodge BBQ

19th Annual Gunflint Lodge BBQ

Sunday afternoon June 25th was not ideal weather for a patio meal, but the new owners of Gunflint Lodge, John and Mindy Fredrikson were able to accommodate our party of 87 very nicely in Justine’s dining room and the Red Paddle Bistro. Bruce and Sue Kerfoot were happy guests, sitting down this year and reminiscing about founding mothers Justine Kerfoot and Adel Tiffany and so many other Gunflint Trail community leaders that were instrumental in starting the foundation. Although there is now competition from many other activities on the trail, most agree that this is the social event of the year. Of course Jerry Thilmany’s accordion set the mood, and our Oral Health Task Force staff provided a display of information about their work. Several summer residents were amazed at the scope and success of the task force work with the children of Cook County. The fundraiser for the endowment fund netted $3534, 33% more than the previous best year in 2014. Mark your calendar for June 24, 2018!
North Shore Health Care Foundation Annual BBQ is happening on June 25, 2017.

Don't miss this fun event --- a great way to help support
health care in Cook County.

Have you ever been to the NSHCF annual BBQ? If you haven’t, you have missed a great meal and a grand evening “up the trail”.  Sunday, June 25th is the day for this year's BBQ at the Gunflint Lodge. The Red Paddle cash bar opens at 4 pm and the BBQ buffet begins at 5 pm. Chefs at the Lodge prepare BBQ ribs, chicken, salmon, cheesy potatoes, salad, vegetables and dessert. Gerald Thilmany will again serenade us with his accordion. All are invited to sing-a-long or make a request.

Why do we host this BBQ? This event raises funds to help our ENDOWMENT grow. This endowment insures our permanent ability to support health care in Cook County. Check out our web site and learn about our many activities and the projects we support.
